I am thrilled to announce that I have received a 2023 Project Sponsorship grant from the JMAC Worcester to support the development and presentation of Dreaming with the Body, an evening length work that will use explore feminine sacrifice and bodily and emotional autonomy through the lens of classic and contemporary fairy tales and folklore. This program is funded by the BARR Foundation, and is administered in collaboration with the Worcester Cultural Coalition.
Since college, I have enjoyed creating professional choreography individually, for Decent Dance, and for The Click, among others. Below you can learn more about a handful of my most recent and favored works.
Performer
For more than a decade, I have had the honor of performing professionally with a variety of Boston-based companies and independent choreographers. I rehearse and create with KAIROS Dance Theater, for whom I am Rehearsal Director and Principal Dancer, and Peter DiMuro/Public Displays of Motion, in addition to being a founding member and regular performer with The Click and a regular guest artist with Vimoksha Dance. Educator
For more than eight years, I have committed to teaching rigorous movement classes to students of all ages and ability levels. Over the years, I have taught in after school programs, community centers, professional dance centers, colleges, and private studio settings ranging from recreational to pre-professional. To date, I have taught for Free Form Dance Academy, développé Evolving Dance, Koltun Ballet Boston, New England Conservatory, North Atlantic Dance Theatre The School, Wilmington Dance Academy, Boston Ballet, and Urbanity Dance, among others. I focus primarily on contemporary forms, as well as conditioning for dancers. I am currently on faculty at développé and Wilmington Dance Academy, and will be a guest choreographer at Free Form Dance Academy this coming season.
For the past five years, I have been setting contemporary choreography for competitive and pre-professional youth students. In my process with students, I prioritize honoring the students' current skill set while expanding the edges of their abilities. I seek to create work not just for my students, but with them - just as I would a group of professional dancers. My work has been recognized with special awards and top placements for both group and solo choreography at regional and national divisions of competitions such as Elite Performance Challenge, Showstopper, Starbound, Turn It Up, Youth America Grand Prix, Universal Ballet Competition and more.
I love to meet new students! If you are a studio owner, teacher, parent, or student interested in arranging private lessons or guest choreography, please use the contact form available here to reach out. I would love to discuss how I may be a part of your journey in dance.
